01. hi! this is just some general guidelines for you guys. you can call me hexstra! i'm pretty laid back, i like to vibe and i adore plotting. i simply request if you have an issue, talk to me. pettiness isn't welcome; as long as we are acquainted you'll respect me and i'll respect you. that means i assume that you'll assert yourself if you have an issue.
other than that, i'm easy to get along with and i enjoy seeing others' writing passion.
this account is 21+, as is the admin.02. saying it once, and once alone; activity varies. if that is not something that vibes with you, apologies, but that is the way this account works. i am slow, i am busy, and i enjoy being able to do what i want on my account when or if i so desire. if that is doing things immediately or at any point in the future, that's wholly up to me. if you feel you are entitled to my time or my presence, unfollow me.
i am not in the mood to deal with those who pester others. pester me for replies, whether rp or messages, and i'll happily block you.
minor reminders are welcome but don't pester, thank you.03. this account will have dark themes. i implore you not to follow if you have issues with dark themes.
due to the fact that this character deals with specific issues such as death, many aspects relating to who she is, how she acts, and how those around her act can hold intense dark themes to them.
themes are explored, not romanticised.
all themes that require warnings will be tagged; if any warnings are left out, please feel free to let me know and i will add them.
nsfw & gore content will exist on this profile.
04. plotting preferred for next if not all story-driven rps but i do love a good improvisation; do not godmod my muse but do know i am happy to plot threads that can a) mutilate and harm her b) potentially kill her and c) actually kill her ( this is difficult though due to the nature of her character, but i'd happily try it ). once we have a mutual understanding, anything is possible to be explored.05. please do not conduct yourself inappropriately ooc; please do not flirt with me ooc. i am taken, thank you.06. shipping is selective mainly because this muse enjoys being complicated. i am down for a multitude of concepts regarding shipping but do not, most will be toxic. even then, the chemistry between admins must work in tandem with the muses (i.e, we must be respectful to each other and our muses). caoineadh is a multiship character due to her age, but she does have a mainship imperative to her current storyline. any ships will either be au or past relationships. do note, if you reduce my character down to what you see fit for shipping desires, we will not be shipping nor will we remain mutuals.to note: nsfw & gore content will exist on this profile; however, lewd is only permitted in DMs once agreed upon by both admins and the muses have tension or chemistry.
CAOINEADH
THE KEENER ; THE BLOOD WITCH ; DEATH'S BLADE
Rumours circulate this Blade the way predators circle prey. Many do not know the truth behind the Keener, many do not care to know. Some companions or former lovers have tidbits of information here and there. Even if they were to come together and piece together what little tales the elven assassin had slowly divulged, generations of information would remain missing. Many do not know where she comes from. Some question if she's originally from Aureus, enslaved elven flesh bought by her Order due to her gifted Death Sight. Some believe her to be from Vita'ryall, an Elvenan homeland known for their severe hatred of humans; a former Empire (Lason'air) that spanned millennia upon millennia slowly pushed back by Leothan rebellion and growing Tharisan might. And some, foolishly, question if she is an elf from the growing power of Leotha, barely freed from a powerful Empire and currently engaging in a frivolous three way war with the Tharsian (human) empire and the Ru'chik (orcs). In truth, the Keener let's people believe what they wish. Some rumours have merit. Others, not so much. What they should care for is her ability. Born Death Touched, the Keener has been gifted (or cursed) by Death from a young age. She is one of the rare few to hold all aspects of its clairvoyant nature. From interacting with the dead, to controlling spirits, to even foreseeing its inevitability, the elf has an unfiltered range that makes her apt and of immeasurable importance to the Order of Mor. Thus, if she was bought by the Order of Mor; then she is bound to her Order for eternity and then some. She is one of the few mage-Keeners left. Her Order is set on utilising "heretical" magic on their war against undeath. Caoineadh is their most efficient mage, her use of blood magic is unparalleled due to her sickening desire for knowledge. Her role and torture into a Keener has made her a stoic woman, a woman who views life as it is without much complaint or outward feeling toward it. She views life as if all things have reason or meaning for being there simply because nature itself so demanded it. Whether it is the choices of others, or the natural world itself. It simply is and she cannot evoke complete change no matter its impact on her. All things die in the end, she will live as she lives until that end. She takes most things in stride and attempts to limit her judgment of others for its not her business nor does she truthfully care, but sometimes… well, reaction is natural after all. This might make her seem cold to some, and in truth, she is.
Caoineadh views relations as mostly transactional. If someone doesn’t offer something of interest, then there’s no need for a connection to remain. Whenever they’re finished with their current endeavour, she’s quick to leave and not truly consider them much after that. In part, it’s expected of a Keener not to dwell too much, to not find distraction in the fleeting. Expected, but she doesn’t entirely do as expected when someone offers intrigue.
But, in truth, if you have nothing to offer, what’s the point in your presence around her?
She has her duty, and her areas of interest. She has no need nor want to waste her time on those she doesn’t value even slightly.
For the lucky few, Caoineadh's kindness has a tendency to shine through. Rare, and sometimes predated by irritation. But deep down, the cold, heartless woman holds a hefty amount of compassion. Her cold nature stems not only from her abuse into her role as a Blade but also from her natural nature as Death Touched and the difficulties that come with that. Caoineadh has an unsettling aura surrounding her. It is not one that invokes dread or completely chills someone to the bone. It’s simply one that naturally utilises the unknown, the fear of the inevitable, of the end. At first, Caoineadh seems like an average young woman. There’s no issue in engaging with her. But, as one remains in her presence; that unsettling itch begins to sit on their chest. It becomes heavy on their lungs as if the air in the room has become thick, but dry.
It’s an unnerving sense of potential doom. The average humanoid is wrought with survival skills. It bleeds with necessity to get away from that in which poses danger. Caoineadh is thus a confusing feeling. It’s not a feeling of danger perceived from her but she feels wrong. As if she shouldn’t exist.
As if her very presence is a sign of threat. And this, creates feelings of fear, anger, disgust and hatred.
Some, even, have the potential to reach madness from the inability to escape the thumping need to survive. It’s true. The closer one is to a Death Touched, the sooner Death may rear its head. It’s only fair though, as the jobs the Death touched are forced into ( if they survive ) are sacked with effort and pain.Knowing she is Death Touched doesn’t dissuade the feeling; although it easier for most to deal with if they’ve faced the concept of Death on more than one occasion.
This aura of the Death touched is one of the reasons, outside of the propaganda against their potential Death Sight that causes them to be hunted or disposed of from a young age. Something many fail to do regarding the ancient elf.Caoineadh's aura, however, is doubled due to her presence as a "stasis" being. She is neither considered a living being or an undead creature. She’s something inbetween, a soul and body in a type of stasis. It accounts for why a Keener never ages, but not why they still need food or water.
Their bodily functions still work, but they are not immortal either. Not in the traditional sense that is. This is thanks to Mortification. This role as a stasis being causes Caoineadh to be viewed as a monster. And in truth, she is, end of story. Even though she has been set on a new path and seeks change, her history is littered with proof of her ways.
She may be the more compassionate of her Keener sisters, but she’s a monster. In the grand scheme of things, she borders on villainy.
The Order of Mor are cruel and their Blades are too.
She may show compassion, she may be kind at times, show mercy at times but she really is an abomination. Her use of magic, while creative, can be downright vile and abhorrent. She’s a weapon, a useful tool for an Order that seeks control for its own parasitic need of survival. An Order sewn with seeds of corruption ever since its near annihilation. Caoineadh was around since the blossoming of the schism; she suffered at its hands and was shaped by its consequences. While the Order may call the Second Inquisition a clan of hypocrites, the Second Inquisition is right to view the Keeners, especially its mage Keeners as abominations when discovered. They’re abominations that cannot die until Death so decides.Realistically, Caoineadh is the type of magic user that should be hunted by mage slayers, but her insatiable pious attitude makes it difficult to put this zealot down. Caoineadh is a force to be reckoned with, ruthless and efficient.Bother the witch if you dare.
THE ORDER OF MORThe Order of Mor is an 𝙖𝙣𝙘𝙞𝙚𝙣𝙩 𝙤𝙧𝙜𝙖𝙣𝙞𝙨𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 that sprang into existence in response to the overwhelming amount of undeath in a time post cataclysm; post 𝗜𝗻𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗜𝗻𝗰𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻.
The use of necromantic practices, both in regards to undeath and that of Death corruption had become too frequent. It was to the point of imbalance, the magic threatening the cyclical nature of creation, death and reincarnation. It almost left existence as nothing.
Wizards, sorcerers and the rich man alike strived to reach immortality, power or wealth even at the cost of true death and the peaceful stasis of the soul.
The Order of Mor began as a 𝙥𝙧𝙤𝙢𝙞𝙨𝙚 and a sect within the Holy Order of the Vigilant Flame to wipe the corruption in Death from the lands and to regain true Death in its natural order; to free Death from this prison that magic caged it in and return the cycles to their natural states.Exploitation of necromancy regarding the minor loophole between Life and Death is a wary one, and only those who are willing to know genuine sacrifice and suffering should toe the line.
Only those who are willing to regard Death as the 𝘁𝗿𝘂𝘁𝗵, as the next destination after life before a soul’s fated return should bask in such foul magic; but, solely to bring true death to the forefront. Over the generations, the Order became religious and grew different sects (Harrowers, mage-Harrowers, Keeners, mage-Keeners,Death Knights and Shards), some that only accept girls and women into its main operations but anyone can become a Death Knight or a Shard. They offer their chantry to anyone who believes similarly and offer accommodation to their devotees. Their core belief is in the stasis of the cycle - life, death, rebirth/reincarnation.In this sense, they believe that it is symbolic for a female to ensure true death as it is the basis of their biology that brings life to the forefront. It is symbolic for a female to utilise the Order’s magics: blood, sacrifice and suffering are the core basis for the Order’s dedication, and the life of a female-born is bound with pain from the moment of menses. The Order of Mor nurtures Death to its full potential as a mother would their babe; hence the routine return to the symbolic nature of female, life, and blood. This is what is preached, this is what is ingrained into the young that end up in their orphanages, to the people that are in dire need of shelter, and to anyone that would end up becoming their devotees. This is what many know the Order of Mor to be about. To many, the Order of Mor is considered a rumour or dying religious organisation. It is a shattered organisation with more myth and fear surrounding it in its current age.
Over the centuries, the Order had a large part of its operations destroyed, once by a petulant king who desired nothing more than the immortality of old and more frequently by the Second Inquisition that wished for nothing more than to destroy what they viewed as “heretics”. Due to this significant loss on top of an already dying Order, it has become far more essential that the Order branches out their expertise in other regards. It had already done so prior, but being on the border of destruction, the Honoured Ones routinely turn a blind eye to the requests that are made of them for the sake of money. This includes being heavily relied on for assassin requests.Within the Order of Mor is an elite force of assassins called Keeners; colloquially, many refer to them as the Death Blades or as Death’s Blades. Although their numbers are currently small; the Death Blades are a superior branch of assassins. Rumour has it that to be marked by a Death Blade means to be marked by Death itself. There has never been a failed assassination by the Death Blades. There never will be a failed assassination by a Death Blade. This is due to the Order’s obsession with recruiting those with the “curse”, 𝘿𝙚𝙖𝙩𝙝 𝙎𝙞𝙜𝙝𝙩.It is expected that their devout remain devout; especially those within the Blades. Attempting to leave the Blades after undertaking its ritual is considered on par with blasphemy; which is punishable. The punishments vary, but for most, it is death. The Order of Mor is always accepting to those who wish to enter their doors, whether simply for the charity a religious organisation brings or for true believers. Although, some pesky researchers would say that if you walk into a Mor sanctuary, you will never return. The Order of Mor currently maintains its operations in Argatnél on Aureus in the Overrealm. Due to the culling of the Order over the centuries; it has abandoned most, but not all of its other sanctuaries. Although the Order has fallen quite a bit in standing and has more enemies than allies, it is still a serious and intricate religious organisation with specific rituals and traditions that are still carried out in its current day. The Order of Mor, however, has strayed from its initial existence.
Although splintered from its origin after a schism that has ruptured repeat spats between former comrades (the Vigilant Flame; now the Second Inquistion), the Order at least had its honour.
Now? It lacks it.Due to the repeated loss of numbers, the Orders goals have become cunning. The Order has always opted to maintain spies around other human continents, and has done so since it formed in secret long before their schism in the Order of Vigilant Flame. But, because of their splintering and the repeated spats and building of enemies from different places, the Order has become tedious in imposing their hidden presence. When it comes to political gain, the Order of Mor operates as a shadow, an entity that places their women in areas made to gain information. The Order sees it fit, for when they don’t agree with the politics that’s coming forth they may intervene and ensure it remains as they please. The Order of Mor has done terrible things to sustain their will, including creating vile magical illness to manipulate entire nations and place an informant where they so please. They conduct rituals; causing others to become bound and pathetic puppets to mage Harrowers, and some rituals are en masse death rituals.
Keeners can be dispatched at a moments notice to wipe out castles of opposition if they so decide.
Funnily enough, they offer these services to their political allies. Although rare, they have a few - some are smart enough to realise the Order is spearheaded by some of the most cunning, vile women with blinding intelligence. The Hollowed Ones, who still vastly believe in their Order’s creation, find that this puppetry is necessary for the survival of the Order of Mor as long as opposition stands.Realistically, the Order operates by implementing loss of control in other continents; illness, puppetry and mass death can create the opportunities for hysteria. In that way, the Order can offer a helpful fix from their side.
Since it’s noticeable that The Order is rich in the arcane, they’ll even go as far to place their mages in other operations simply to maintain a feedback of information to know what may potentially be coming their way.
